- Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable
- Perform routine and specialized Blood Bank compatibility testing.
- Process specimens and complete ABO/Rh and antibody screening and identification.
- Perform antibody typing using the tube method.
- Complete immediate-spin/IgG and electronic crossmatches.
- Perform indirect Coombs testing.
- Prepare blood components for transfusion.
- Support transfusion needs for pediatric and adult specialty services while floating between Methodist, University, and Riley locations.
Required:
- ASCP-MLS certification.
- Medical Laboratory Scientist qualifications applicable to Blood Bank laboratory work.
- Ability to perform specimen processing, compatibility testing, antibody identification, crossmatching, and indirect Coombs testing.
- Availability for night shift, every other weekend, and one holiday if required during the assignment.
- Ability to float between Methodist, University, and Riley locations.
- MLT candidates are not eligible for this position.
Preferred:
- ASCP-BB certification.
Work with the Blood Bank laboratory at a leading facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. The laboratory performs routine and specialized compatibility testing and prepares blood components to support transfusion services for pediatric and adult specialty care.
