We are seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians for locum tenens coverage at a freestanding emergency department in Lakeland, Florida . This opportunity offers 12-hour shifts beginning December 15, 2026, with multiple openings available throughout December and January.

• Coverage Needed: December 2026 and January 2027

• Openings: 10 physicians

• Setting: Freestanding Emergency Department

• Call: None indicated

• 12-hour physician shifts

• Multiple coverage dates available in December and January

• Specific shift dates and times to be confirmed

• 16-bed freestanding Emergency Department

• Approximately 36,000 annual ED visits

• Cerner EMR

• Emergency care for patients presenting with a broad range of conditions

• Evaluate and manage emergency department patients

• Provide emergency stabilization and treatment

• Perform all procedures included in the facility's Delineation of Privileges (DOP)

• Manage patients independently within the scope of Emergency Medicine practice

Preferred:

- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM)

Also Accepted:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine physicians with Emergency Medicine experience

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine physicians with Emergency Medicine experience

Not Accepted:

- AAPS/ABPS certification pathways

• Active, unrestricted Florida medical license required

• Active DEA registration with a Florida address required

• DEA schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5

• ACLS required

• PALS required

• ATLS required unless ABEM certified

Candidates must have the following documentation available:

• Updated CV

• Case logs from the previous 2 years

• CME documentation from the previous 2 years

• Current flu vaccination documentation within the past 12 months

• TB screening within the past 12 months

• COVID documentation

• Required licenses and certifications

All required documentation must be available at submission to facilitate credentialing and onboarding.

A BC/BE Emergency Medicine Physician or an experienced FM/IM Physician with Emergency Medicine experience who holds an active Florida license and Florida-address DEA registration. Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-volume freestanding emergency department and performing the required emergency procedures.
