About this job

Job Summary

At BenGlassLaw, we're not your typical law firm-and we're not looking for a typical paralegal. Our practice is built on delivering a best-in-class client service experience and we're looking for someone who is positive, proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to go above and beyond for our clients.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Personal Injury Paralegal with a minimum of five years of personal injury or medical malpractice experience who can step in and contribute from day one as the right hand to an attorney with two decades of experience trying cases. We're not simply looking for someone who has spent five years working in a law firm. We're looking for someone who has developed the knowledge, confidence, and judgment to help manage cases, anticipate what needs to happen next, and keep things moving forward without constant direction.

If you enjoy taking ownership of your work, and want to be part of a collaborative, supportive team-you might be exactly who we're looking for.

Job Duties

As a Senior Personal Injury Paralegal, you'll play a key role in managing cases and supporting our lead attorney, with a primary focus on catastrophic pre-litigation and litigation cases. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their caseload, proactively identifies next steps, and help ensures cases move efficiently toward resolution.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Case Management: Manage an assigned caseload from intake through settlement or resolution, proactively advancing cases, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely completion of necessary tasks without constant attorney direction.
  • Investigation: Investigate case facts, identify liability issues, insurance coverage concerns, missing evidence, and potential weaknesses in a case, and bring relevant findings to the attorney's attention.
  • Advanced Medical Record Analysis: Review and analyze medical records and bills for accuracy and completeness; prepare treatment chronologies, identify gaps in treatment, and organize medical expenses and damages documentation.
  • Demand Package Preparation: Independently prepare comprehensive settlement demand packages for attorney review, including liability summaries, medical treatment information, damages calculations, and supporting documentation.
  • Proactive Attorney Support: Anticipate upcoming case needs, identify potential obstacles, recommend next steps, and help attorneys prioritize cases and maintain momentum toward resolution.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, answering questions, managing expectations, and communicating with empathy and professionalism during what can be a difficult time in their lives.
  • Insurance and Professional Communication: Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other professionals to obtain necessary information, resolve outstanding issues, and keep cases progressing.
  • Case Management and Quality Control: Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date case files; open and close cases in our case management system; monitor deadlines; and ensure all documentation and correspondence are properly maintained.
  • Legal Documentation: Draft correspondence and legal documents, and assist attorneys with case preparation and strategy.
  • Team Collaboration and Mentoring: Serve as a knowledgeable resource for less experienced team members, share best practices, and contribute ideas to improve processes and overall team efficiency.

What you won't have to do:

  • Be actively involved in the collection of medical records
  • Fax the same thing over and over and over and over
  • Sit on hold waiting to open new claims with insurance companies
  • Work with jerks

This is a hands-on role where your experience, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently will make a real impact. We value someone who doesn't just complete assigned tasks but takes initiative, recognizes what needs to happen next, and follows through.
