About this job

About The Company

Dynamic Systems (DSI), LLC is a leading engineering, fabrication, construction, and specialty systems provider serving high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, mission critical, life sciences, industrial, and advanced technology clients across the United States. DSI delivers turnkey solutions including process piping, specialty gas and ultra-high-purity systems, mechanical/HVAC, modular fabrication, and utility infrastructure.

As part of the Quanta Services family of companies, DSI combines the agility of a specialized mechanical contractor with the resources, stability, and national reach of one of North America's premier infrastructure companies.

Position Summary

Owns how DSI buys materials, equipment, and trade services across its mechanical and plumbing projects. Works closely with project managers, estimators, field and fabrication teams, and accounting to keep materials on schedule, subcontractors compliant, and project margins protected. This role manages the supply and subcontractor base that supports DSI's core mechanical scope. It is not a stand-alone purchasing function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive, ongoing relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and internal project teams
  • Source, quote, and purchase HVAC, plumbing, and process piping materials and equipment, including long-lead items such as chillers, air handlers, pumps, and specialty valves
  • Issue and track purchase orders and subcontracts against project budgets and cost codes
  • Coordinate submittals, release schedules, delivery, and expediting with project teams and DSI's offsite fabrication and modular teams
  • Buy and track materials against fabrication schedules and shop-to-field shipping milestones
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and volume agreements, and flag commodity and equipment cost escalations to project teams early
  • Prequalify and maintain an approved subcontractor and vendor list covering safety record, financial stability, capacity, and references
  • Prepare bid packages and scopes of work, level bids, and recommend awards to project leadership
  • Prepare, negotiate, and issue subcontracts, change orders, and amendments in line with DSI and Quanta contract standards
  • Track certificates of insurance, licenses, W-9s, lien waivers, and other compliance documents
  • Review subcontractors pay applications, retainage, and back charges with project managers and accounting
  • Reconcile receiving, packing slips, and invoices, and resolve discrepancies, backorders, and returns
  • Maintain procurement logs, buyout status, and open-commitment reports, and contribute to monthly project reviews
  • Address subcontractor performance, schedule, and quality issues and escalate risks to project and operations leadership
  • Support project closeout, including warranties, O&Ms, final lien waivers, and retainage release
  • Follow company approval and segregation-of-duties policies and support audit and compliance requests

Qualifications

Required

• 8+ years of procurement, purchasing, or subcontract administration experience, preferably with a mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or specialty contractor

• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and equipment

• Experience with subcontract agreements, change orders, lien waivers, and insurance requirements

• Strong negotiation, organization, and communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ERP or project-management systems (e.g., Vista, D365)

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, supply chain, business, or engineering, or equivalent experience

• Experience reading mechanical drawings and specifications

• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

• Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CCCA)

• Experience with high-tech, semiconductor, healthcare, or mission-critical projects
