Locums - Western Maryland, OB/GYN Hospitalist Job

Clinical Role:

• Seeking a board certified or truly board eligible OB/GYN

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required

• Maryland license required prior to starting; candidates without a current Maryland license are welcome to apply

• DEA and CSR required

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and CPR

• Experience with VBAC inductions required

• 24-hour in-house call shifts: 7:00 AM-7:00 AM

• Estimated ongoing need: 1-4 shifts per month as needs arise

• Prefer no more than 48 consecutive hours of coverage

• Current coverage needs:

  • December: 23, 24, 26, 27, and 30

  • January: 2, 3, 10, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31

• Cover all deliveries and emergent GYN surgeries during the shift

• Typical cases: Normal OB/GYN

• Average deliveries: 3 per shift

• Emergent GYN surgeries: Fewer than 2 per shift

• Average admissions: 5-7 while on call

• Antepartum/postpartum rounding: 7-10 patients per day

• Scheduled C-sections: 1-2 per day; responsible only for those scheduled by the service

Hospital & Support:

• Level III trauma center

• Level II NICU

• Gestational age cutoff: 24 weeks

• Approximately 900 deliveries annually

• Typical L&D census: 6-10 patients, including postpartum

• This is not solo coverage

• Midwife coverage available, but not 24/7

• Two additional practices also deliver at the hospital

• Anesthesia onsite 24/7

• Nurses and CRNAs handle neonatal resuscitation

• ICU available

• EMR: Epic
